I was curious if we really could use a steamer to spaghetti, rice to cook or would take too long to cook?

Yes, it would take too long, but spaghetti would be too much starch. You really need to cook spaghetti in a large pot with water.

Pasta should be in boiling water, it would take too long to cook to cook, and just sweet and carefree.
